Meet Benjamin of SuperSlow®LA
Today we’d like to introduce you to Benjamin.
Benjamin, can you briefly walk us through your story – how you started and how you got to where you are today.
SuperSlow LA was opened over 19 years ago by my wife, Susan Taylor Fisher. She was traveling to Calabasas once a week to do the SuperSlow workout – she asked her trainer where the closest studio to West LA was – he asked her where she wanted to open one!!!
So, she chose Brentwood to open a SuperSlow studio. Susan wanted people to know about this unique way of working out. Many of her new clients were skeptical about 30 minutes once a week, they became believers and several are still clients 19 years later.
Susan was very fortunate to have some of the best trainers in the city helping her build a reputation for safety first while doing an intensive workout. Susan, of course, is an advocate of the workout which she has been doing for over 20 years – results – she looks and feels fantastic.
Five years ago I met my soon to be wife, she suggested I do SuperSlow. Wow, I was sold! I became a certified trainer and now managed and co-own SuperSlow LA! Along with our incredible trainer, Carly, we have grown and our name is out in the community.
We are open 7 days a week by appointment. I think both Carly and I bring our passion and compassion to all of our clients.
Has it been a smooth road?
As in any new business, it was “slow” getting going. Susan did a lot of networking so people would know what SuperSlow was about – come and try it, she told them. Now in our 19th year of business, we are fortunate to have wonderful clients and lots of referrals that come from those happy clients.
So let’s switch gears a bit and go into the SuperSlow LA story. Tell us more about the business.
SuperSlow LA – The fastest way to Fitness – requires only 30 minutes once a week to achieve your goals. We are the perfect workout for your busy modern life. Our studio is a private, one-to-one training, in the heart of Brentwood.
Our trainers are SuperSlow certified with emphasis on your safety. We appeal to the person who says they don’t have the time and hate to workout. Everyone has 30 minutes once a week to devote to their health and wellbeing.
What sets us apart from other conventional workout studios is it doesn’t require a lot of your time. Once a week is optimum as your muscles need to rest 5-7 days before you put them to the test again.
How do you think the industry will change over the next decade?
Up, Up, Up!!! As the population ages, more and more people will be looking for this type of workout. We are ready for them if it means having a larger studio, more trainers – no problem.
The more people know about SuperSlow, its benefits to the body without spending hours in the gym, the more clients we will have.
